Hopkins County, Kentucky, soldier and farmer. Kentucky native. Married to Serena Chapel. Father of Ingram Chapel. Farmer in Hopkins County, Kentucky, in 1850. Served in the 10th Kentucky Cavalry Regiment (C.S.A.) as a private. Captured at Cheshire, Ohio, on July 20, 1863. Prisoner of war at Camp Chase, Ohio; McLean Barracks, Ohio; and Rock Island Barracks, Illinois. Signed a loyalty oath to the U. S. government at Rock Island Barracks on May 19, 1865.
