Caldwell County, Kentucky, soldier. Virginia native. Son of Ferdinand Boitnott and Mary Beckner Boitnott. Married to Louisa A. Davis Boitnott. Father of Louisa J. Boitnott and Mary Boitnott. Resident in Caldwell County, Kentucky, in 1860. Served in the 1st Louisiana Cavalry Regiment (C.S.A.) as a private. Captured January 28, 1863 in Caldwell County. POW at Camp Chase, Ohio, until sent to City Point, Virginia, for exchange on March 28, 1863.
