Hopkins County, Kentucky, blacksmith and soldier. Indiana native. Married to Priscilla Simon Aton in Hopkins County, Kentucky, on January 22, 1861. Father of William E. Aton, Annie B. Aton, and Charles H. Aton. Blacksmith in Madisonville in 1860. Served in the 35th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a private from October 2, 1863, to December 29, 1864.
