Adair County, Kentucky, farmer and solider. Adair County, Kentucky, native. Married to Susan McKinnay Lewis on October 23, 1855. Father of Junius C. Lewis, John Lewis, and James T. Lewis. Farmer in Adair County, Kentucky, in 1860. Served in the 13th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a private from December 31, 1861 to November 14, 1863. Killed at the Battle of Huff's Ferry, Roane County, Tennessee, on November 14, 1863.
