Served in the 13th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a corporal from December 31, 1861 to January 12, 1865. Wounded at the Battle of Shiloh, Hardin County, Tennessee, on April 7, 1862. Wounded in battle in Tennessee in November 1863.
