Floyd County, Indiana, resident and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of David Rasure and Clarinda Tackett Rasure (Julia Dean). Married to Helena Ehleiter Rasure in Jefferson County, Kentucky, on May 14, 1863. Reported to have served in 4th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) in 1862. Served in the 1st Regiment, Indiana Heavy Artillery, (formerly the 21st Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment) (U.S.A.) as a private from March 1, 1864, to June 23, 1864. Reported as a deserted on June 23, 1864.
