Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, druggist and soldier. Kentucky native. Married to Marry Thorpe Board in Hardin County, Kentucky, on December 1, 1846. Father of Ann Board, J. L. Board, Mary Board, and Benjamin Board. Graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, in 1834. Served in the 1st United States Artillery as a second and first lieutenant from July 1, 1834 to March 31, 1840. Merchant in Meade County, Kentucky, in 1850. Employed Thomas Board as a merchant clerk in Meade County in 1850. Owned two enslaved persons in Meade County in 1850. Druggist in Louisville in 1860. Owned four enslaved persons in Louisville in 1860. Served in the 2nd Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry (U.S.A.) as a colonel from September 27, 1861 to December 25, 1862. Resigned December 25, 1862.
