Married to Jane Martin Martin in Woodford County, Kentucky, in February 1833. Father of Martha D. Martin, Mary E. Martin, Elenor J. Martin, and James H. Martin. Married to Eliza B. Martin. Father of Charles E. Martin. Cabinet maker in Jessamine County, Kentucky, in 1850. Cabinet maker in Fayette County in 1860. Served in the 6th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a first lieutenant and captain from December 23, 1861 to January 9, 1863. Resigned on account of poor health on January 9, 1863. Resident of Lexington in 1864.
