Oldham County, Kentucky, shoemaker, farmer, and soldier. Kentucky native. Married to Mary A. Berry Suttles. Father of James Suttles, Elias Suttles, Frances E. Suttles, Michael Suttles, Elizabeth Suttles, George Suttles, John Suttles, Nancy Suttles, Melissa Suttles, Sally Suttles, Alice Suttles, and Richard Suttles. Shoemaker in Oldham County in 1850. Farmer in Oldham County in 1860. Served in the 13th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a private and sergeant from December 31, 1861 to May 1, 1864. Wounded at the Battle of Huff's Ferry, Roane County, Tennessee on November 14, 1863. Transferred to the Veterans Reserve Corps on May 1, 1864.
