Served in the 13th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a private from December 31, 1861 to April 28, 1864. Captured at the Battle of Huff's Ferry, Roane County, Tennessee, on November 14, 1863. Died from typhoid fever at Camp Parole, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, on April 28, 1864.
