Resident of Harrison County in 1850. Farmer in Grant County in 1860. Served in the 11th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry (U.S.A.) as a sergeant from September 22, 1862 to July 14, 1865. Reported as deserted from a Union Hospital in Sumner County, Tennessee. Captured near Philadelphia, Monroe County, Tennessee on October 20, 1863. Prisoner of war in Richmond, Virginia, from November 1, 1863 to February 18, 1864. Prisoner of war at Andersonville Prison from February 1864 to April 24, 1864. Prisoner of war at Florence, South Carolina in October 1864. Prisoner of war in Salisbury, North Carolina. Paroled February 23, 1865.
