Mercer County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Married to Rebecca Maccoun Curd in Woodford County, Kentucky, on June 24, 1840. Father of Leonard Curd, Alexander Curd, Zachariah Taylor Curd, Elizabeth Curd, Robert Curd, and David Curd. Farmer in Mercer County in 1850. Owned seven enslaved persons in Mercer County in 1850. Farmer in Mercer County in 1860. Owned four enslaved persons in Jessamine County in 1860. Served as a captain in the 11th Kentucky Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) from September 22, 1862 to November 14, 1863. Captured at the Battle of Maryville, Blount County, Tennessee, on November 14, 1863. Died at Andersonville Prison in Macon County, Georgia, on August 17, 1864.
