Served in the 11th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a major from December 4, 1863, to July 14, 1865. Captured at the Battle of Sunshine Church, Jones County, Georgia, on July 30, 1864. Paroled on April 2, 1865.
