Louisville, Kentucky, liquor merchant and tavern keeper. Native of Switzerland. Son of Conrad Besancon and Mary Besancon. Immigrated to the United States on November 14, 1848. Attended school in Erie County, New York, in 1850. Shoemaker in Eerie County in 1855. Liquor merchant in Louisville in 1863. Tavern keeper in Louisville in 1864. Claimed ownership of Daniel King in Louisville in February 1864.
