Received an honorary Masters of Arts from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, in 1837. Principal of the Monroe County Female Institute in Monroe County, Indiana, from 1835 to 1846. Founded the Louisville Female Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1847. Principal of the Louisville Female Institute from 1847 through 1865. Owned one enslaved person in Louisville in 1850.
