Grant County, Kentucky, farm laborer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of John Readenour and Mary Readenour. Married to Malinda Readenour. Father of Emma Belle Readenour. Guardian of Malinda Collins. Laborer in Fleming County in 1850. Attended school in Fleming County in 1850. Farm laborer in Grant County in 1860. Served in the 11th Kentucky Volunteers Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a teamster, private, and corporal from September 22, 1862 to February 22, 1864. Reported as deserted from Marion County, Kentucky, on January 8, 1863. Captured at the Battle of Philadelphia in Monroe County, Tennessee, on October 20, 1863. Prisoner of war from October 20, 1863 to February 22, 1864. Died in Richmond, Virginia on February 22, 1864
