Grant County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Daniel Seward and Lucinda Seward. Married to Ruth Ann Childers Seward in Grant County, Kentucky, in March 1848. Farmer in Grant County in 1850. Laborer in Grant County in 1860. Served in the 11th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a private from September 22, 1862 to July 14, 1865.
