Married to Nancy Ann Beach Webster Franks in Boone County, Kentucky, on February 21, 1848. Father of Elizabeth Franks. Laborer in Owen County, Kentucky, in 1850. Attended school in Owen County in 1850. Laborer in Owen County in 1860. Served in the 11th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a private from September 22, 1862 to March 23, 1865. Reported as deserted from January 20, 1863 to May 1, 1864. Captured in Jasper County, Georgia, on July 31, 1864. Prisoner of war from July 31, 1864 to February 28, 1865. Paroled in Wilmington, North Carolina, on February 28, 1865. Died from disease on March 23, 1865.
