Grant County, Kentucky, school teacher and soldier. Virginia native. Married to Joanna Sipple Marks in Gallatin County, Kentucky, in November 1847. Father of Meriam Marks and William Marks. School teacher in Grant County in 1850. School teacher in Grant County in 1860. Served in the 11th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a private and a corporal from September 22, 1862 to March 7, 1863. Discharged on account of disability on March 7, 1863.
