Hotel in Lexington, Kentucky. Founded as the Postlethwait Tavern by John Postlethwait and Samuel Postlethwait in Lexington, Kentucky, in 1797. Rebuilt as the Phoenix Hotel in 1820 after a fire burned the original building. Proprietors: Thomas Chiles and Clerk Chiles (1860), C.T. Worley (1864).
