Agents Appointment to Receive a Fugitive from Justice.
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE STATE OF INDIANA,
I Oliver P. Morton Governor of the State of Indiana.
TO ALL WHO SHALL SEE THESE PRESENTS—-GREETING:
Know Ye, That reposing especial trust and confidence in the integrity, diligence, and ability of Melvin Weir of the County of Clarke in the State of Indiana I do hereby appoint him Agent on the part of this State, to proceed to the State of Kentucky for the purpose of demanding and receiving from the proper authorities of said State, the bodies of David Rasseure John Rider and Samuel McCarty. a Fugitive^s^ from Justice from the State of Indiana, charged with the crime of Robrey on the afft. of Gustavus. V. Erickson before Melvin Weir a Justice of the Peace and I do hereby authorize and direct the said Melvin Weir to demand and receive the said Fugitive, and bring him to this State, and deliver him to the custody of the Sheriff of the County of Clarke
"The State will pay no part of the expenses of the execution of this Writ."
