Connersville, Indiana, attorney, politician, and soldier. Fayette County, Indiana, native. Son of Samuel Trusler. Married to Salome Stanton Trusler. Father of Preston Trusler, Mary S. Trusler, Edna H. Trusler, Pinckey G. Trusler. Married to Elizabeth Trusler. Attorney in Fayette County, Indiana, in 1850. Member of the House of Representatives of the State of Indiana from Fayette County from 1856 to 1860. Attorney in Fayette County in 1860. Served in the 84th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as colonel from September 5, 1862, to October 17, 1863. Secretary of State of the State of Indiana from 1864 to 1869.
