Dear Sir I was indited in the Rockcastle Circuit Court for Gameing and when the case was called I plead guilty and Judgment went against me for $20, I am not a gambler but some times have played for mear amusement and in this case I with two other boys was playing a game at 5 cts mearly to make it interesting to pass off time The Execution is now in the hands of the Sheriff against me.

I ask your Excellency to interpose in my behalf and remit the fine, and believe me your obt servt,

Governor I was the witness before the Grand Jury in the case of the Comwlth vs M^r McKee having been in the telegraph Room one night I saw him & two other yong men playing a 5 cts game and so told the grand Jury. McKee went into Court plead guilty and Judgment was entered against him he is a Clever gentleman and true Union man. And I hope your Excellency will remit the fine for him
