To his Excellency Govrnor Bramlette

Your petitioner Joshua Pack would respectfully represent to your Honour that at the ^last^ December Term of the Kenton Circuit Court held in the city of Covington Kenton County Ky he was fined the sum of two Hundred Dollars for Keeping a gaming or Gambling house, he states he had several border at the time and they might have played cards as proven in one of their rooms, but it was Entirely against his will and against his instructions, and that he knew nothing of it he further states that owing to some ill feeling against ^him^ by one of his guests he went before the Grand jury and had him Indicted and he was fined as above stated, he further says to prevent the officers taking him to jail although he is poor he obtained a friend to go his surety and replevy the fines he further says that he has given up said Tavern House and returned to a private occupation and is unable to pay said fine without materially distressing his family, Wherefore he prays that your Excellency would remit so much of said fine as you in your Clemency may deem proper, and your petitioner will ever pray,
