We the undersigned petitioners would respectfully represent to ~~his~~your excellency Governor Bramlette, that at the Novr Term 1863 of the Owen Circuit Court a verdict was rendered against them for the sum of twenty dollars each and twenty seven dollars & 45 cents costs — that they are young men, and imprudently engaged in a game at cards, that they were not in the habit of gaming are poor men, one of ~~them~~ us having a family to support, and the other very low and feble, with ill health — We ask his excellency to remit that part of the fine to which the Commonwealth is entitled —

We the neighbors of the above petitioners would represent that the above statements we believe to be true, that the young men are quiet & worthy young men & the case once in which executive clemency could be
very properly used — we unite with the petitioners and ask that the fine be remitted as in duty bound we ever pray &c —
