The Commonwealth of Kentucky,
To the Sheriff of Mercer County -- Greeting:

YOU are commanded to summon William Barrett J W Cardwell & Jo H Tompkins to appear before the Mercer Circuit Court, on the 1^st day of the next May Term, to show cause if any they can, why Judgment shall not be rendered against them for One Hundred Dollars, ~~each~~ for ^William Barrett's^ failing to appear at the April Term, 1864, in said Court, in accordance with recognizance entered into in said Court in the case of the Commonwealth against William Barrett and due return make of this summons according to law.

WITNESS: RICHARD BOARD, Clerk of the Mercer Circuit Court, this 10 day of Jany, 1865.
