To his Excellency.
Gov^r. Tho E. Bramlette

At the November Term 1864 of the Adair Circiut Court a Judgment was rendered against me infavour of the Commonwealth of Kentucky for Fifty dollars besides Costs $7.80 cents and an Execution is now in the hands of the Sheriff of Adair County for the fine aforesaid -- Your Petitioner States that the Indictment was for carrying Concealed Weapons and was found in 1860 or 1861 -- after the Indictment was found the summons issued & was served on your Petitioner and before the following Term of the Court he was taken sick & did not attend the Court to which he was summond, In September 1861 your Petitioner joined the Army; Company A 3^rd Kentucky volunteer Infantry -- Then Commanded by your Excellency at Camp Dick Robinson -- Your Petitioner served out his full time and was musterd out the 8^th Oct^o. 1864. and at the Nov. Term this Judgment was rendered, without any knowledge on his part that it would be tried, indeed he supposed the Indictment was long since dismissed or otherwise disposed of -- Now under the peculiar circumstances of the case. Your Petitioner thinks it would be but proper for your Excellency to remit all of the aforesaid fine that is now subject to remission & as in duty bound &C
