Dear Governor

I have the honor to present to you Mr James W. Sweeny — a poor man unable to pay — in justice to a large family the amnt of the forfeiture of the bond his petitioners ask his release from —

I am personally acquainted with Mr Sweeny he having been in my employ as a special agent in the Pro Mar Deprt,, And from a knowledge well drawn. I take great pleasure in stating that he is incapable of doing wrong from intention. Thoroughly reliable — in every thing honest — And as such I would ask that if consistent he be released from the payment of said bond

and thereby — benefit a large and helpless family whose only support is drawn from the petitioner in this case —

On account of sickness of my family I am unable to leave home to go to Frankfort in person. I therefore transmit my petition by mail, with this letter hoping it will receive the same attention that my presence would secure
