your petitioners Joseph H Bond & Henry A Huffaker would State to your Excellency that during the Sprihg of the present year they were engaged in a grocery business in the Town of Monticello that they procured a government Licens from the United States assessor and was ignorant of the fact that any other Licens had to be prcoured and at the Apl Term an Indictment was found against them in the Wayne circuit court for Tipling and at the October Term they were fined $35 they are now out of any such business and ask your excellency to ~~remit~~ relieve them of Said fine as they were acting at the time they were retailing in good faith & did not wish intend nor desire to violate the law
