I would respectfully state that on the 13^th day September I was fined ($600 ^x/₁₀₀) Six hundred dollars — on an Indictment found against me by the Grand Jury of the City Court of Louisville I would respectfully state that I have paid thereon ($100 ^x/₁₀₀) one hundred dollars

I suggest that the sum thus paid is ~~likely~~ sufficient — I am poor not keeping that character of house called first class; — a house where wealth is used to gild the immorality and lure the youth into them, and from paths of virtue

I shall obtain the signatures of some of the citizens to join in my prayer for this exercise of the Executive clemency

I shall ever pray &c.
