Sir. Enclosed we send you a copy of an Indictment & Bench Warrant against James Washington of color now pending in our Court. We understand the Deft. has fled to Ohio — Will your Excellency please send us a Requisition upon the Governor of Ohio. and name C. Butts of this City as a Suitable & trustworthy person to make the arrest of Deft. & deliver him to the custody of the Jailor here, Col Foley is anxious that he be brought to justice & punished if guilty
