I have just been to see the Governor about the money of mine found on the body of Mary Crouch, that James Keller stole from me and left with her. The Governor has been looking for the money from Mount-Sterling by your order, but it seems that the money has not come yet. I am in great distress for money — and am afraid to go out of town. The Guerillas and friends of Keller, whom I killed, are watching ^over^ my life. Please send an order to Mt Sterling for the money. Capt. Williams, Provost Marshall at Mt. Sterling, deposited the money in the Bank there subject to your order.
