Dear Sir

after my best respects To you you will recollect the fine I asked you to have remitted for me to the amount of fifty Dollars which was adjudged against me for concealed weapons at the fall term or Novr. term of the Clay Circuit Court of 1860 the Governer respited the collection for twelve month and I wrote to ^you to^ have it remited and you said you
thought it necessary to not pester the Governer any farther with the matter at that time and requested me to write you last October and I volunteered last August at Camp Dick Robisons under Captain John Lucas in 7^th Regt. Ky vol. for 3 years or during the present war and owing to the present condition of affairs I have neglected my own business I now ask you to attend to that for me and you will much oblige me and I shall be under obligations to you
