To his Excellency, Hon. Beriah M^cGoffin
Gov, of the State of Kentucky

We your Petitioners whose names are hereunto subscribed, Jurors of the Sept, Term of the Circuit Court of this Dist, held in the year of 1859 at the Court house at Burlington Burlington, Boone Co. and above named State before whom was tried in the said court at the said time and place, James Sebree for the murder of W^m Jarrill against whom the said James Sebree, a verdict was rendered by us, and who the said James Sebree is now Serving out the penalty adjudged against him for the commission of the said act in the Penitentiary at Frankfort Ky. In view of the condition of the case of James Sebree [...] always somewhat [...] at the time of the commission of the said murder, and in view of the sense of almost the entire community and also of the condition of his family, and believing that the ends of justice is abundantly satisfied by the punishment already inflicted and feeling that justice should always be tempered with Mercy, do hereby respectfully, and humbly petition your Excellency to pardon the said James Sebree and restore him to liberty And your Petitioners will ever pray
