The Governor appointed and commissioned the following Justices in Laurel county to wit: James Pastell and Sam^l Bayless in place of, Lemuel Casteel and Jonathan Price also P. G. Bryant in Distric N^o 6 in place of I. M. Johnson.

He issued a Proclamation calling for an extra session of the General Assembly to convene at the Capitol on the 17^th day of January 1861, to take into consideration the interests of the Commonwealth as the same may be involved in or connected with the present distracted condition of the county at large

He issues a Proclamation ordering an election in the 33^d Senatorial Distrcit composed of the counties of Montgomery, Clarke, Estill and Powell to supply the vacancy occasioned by the death of James M^cKee, late Senator.

Also a Proclamation ordering an election for Representative in the counties of Caldwell and Lyon made vacant by the resignation of W. B. Acree

He commissioned the following Major of Enrolled Militia, to wit: Lloyd Tilghman, Thomas Bristow and W^m H Miller.
