His Excellency J. F. Robinson- Governor of Kentucky-

Dear Sir- pardon me for again intruding on your attention. But "all that a man hath will he give for his life". Judge Hichcock, special Com^r from Washington, has considered my case, and has recommended my release to the War Department, with the endorsement of Governor Tod- In consideration of which, and my greatly infeebeld health, I have been paroled to this city, for tendays- I feel fully satisfide that the Department will affirm the Decision of the Judge; but it may be delayed beyond the peariod of my parole, which expires on the 18^th[...] Goven^r Tod has the right, I learn, to extend paroles- Will you do me the favor to request Govn^r Tod, should it become necessary, to extendmyparole, and notpermitmetobesentbacktoprison? An other weeks confinement and exposure in that place will terminate my earthly existence. I am anxious to get Home and die in the bosom of my the little remnant of my once hapy, but now deeply afflicted family.
