To His Excellency James F. Robinson Gov of Kentucky.

We the undersigned Citizen of Graves County Ky & some of the Jurors who tried the case of the Comlth of Ky. agst James Gardner tried at the late Novr term of the Graves Circuit Court 1862 beg leave to state that said Gardner was tried & fined Twenty five dollars ~~& [...]~~ for a breach of the peace charge to have been committed on one Patrick Murray — the facts of the case showed that both Gardner & Murray were drunk had always before the difficulty been friends, & have ever since then been on friendly terms that it was the liquor which caused the difficulty, that Gardner is & has always been a peeseeble man, that is very poor & has a large family to support that he is unable to pay the same but will be forese to go into jail unless the Executive interposes to relieve it from it. we therefore respectfully ask that said fine be released. Decr 20^th 1862.
