I send you the name of Col James W Caperton who is the man to act as Colonel and John Bennett Esq who will act as Lieutenant Colonel under the State Law

Hoping you will Commission them — and allow them at once to proceed to organize a Volunteer Company under your Order No 3 Issued from Head Quarters. Kentucky Volunteer Frankfort Ky Oct 8^th 1863

Under such leaders as Col Caperton and Mr Bennett I am Satisfied the Compay will be raised— and when raised & organized— I will be risking nothing in saying they will contribut as much as any men in carring out your order in which you say Ky Shall be free from its Murderous foes,
