Sir

A Young man named Schouler was arrested in this county by a party of soldiers who went to Frankfort with Major Mahoney against ~~who~~ whom there are no charges which would justify either the arrest or detention

I have this from most reliable Union men — Malice had more to do with it ^probably^ than any thing else
The young man was taken to Frankfort with other Prisoners and we hope you will have him released

His Father and friends generally are good Citizens
