Dear Sir

Yours of the 26^th ult. has been referred, by the Govenor, to this office.

As soon as companies or battallions are raised, under "Special Order No 1", (a copy of which is herewith encolsed)-- and reported to these Hd. Qrs. the necessary blanks will be forwarded-- an election held and the officers commissioned.

Arms and Equipages will be furnished them and "when called into active service they shall be entitled to pay at the same rates in every respect as the corresponding grades may at the time be entitled to in the United States Service."
