My Dear Friend—

Good news for once! Your friend Col Boyd has paid the Ballance debt— and I feel most gloriously relieved, dont you?— I feel so happy this morning that I have resolved to allow nothing not even War to ruffle my temper any more — tis so much more pleasant and agreeable to be always in a good humor — —

But they would not pay any interest because the law excused them from that. — I am so glad to get the principal that I can overlook the other without complaining. Good news isnt it?
