I. At the Military Court-Martial, which convened at Frankfort, Ky., on the 20th March, 1865, pursuant to General Order No. 4, dated Headquarter^s Kentucky Volunteers, Adjutant-General's Office, Frankfort, Ky., March 17' 1865, and of which Lieutenant Colonel J. J. Craddock, First Regiment Kentucky State forces, is President, were arraigned and tried —

I. Private GEORGE TRULOVE, Company A, First Regiment Kentucky State forces.

CHARGE I.
"Absence without leave."

Specification 1. — In this: that said GEORGE TRULOVE, a private soldier of Capt. Charles Juno's Company (A) First Regiment Kentucky State troops, did absent himself without proper authority, on or about the twenty-third of February, 1865, and did remain absent until he was arrested in the city of Louisville, Ky., on the 15th day of March, 1865.

Specification 2. — In this: that the said GEORGE TRULOVE, a private soldier of Capt. Charles Juno's Company (A) First Regiment Kentucky State troops, did, on or about the twenty-third February, 1865, abandon his arms and ammunition, belonging to the State of Kentucky.

Specification 3. — In this: that the said GEORGE TRULOVE, a private of Capt. Juno's Company (A) First Regiment Kentucky State troops, stationed at Midway, Ky., did throw away his uniform and borrow a citizen's clothes to enable him to escape detection and arrest.

To which charges and specifications the prisoner, private GEORGE TRU-

CHARGE I.
To the Specification, "Guilty."
To the CHARGE, "Guilty."
To the Specification 2, "Guilty."
To the Specification 3, "Guilty."

FINDING.

The Court having maturely considered the evidence adduced, finds the prisoner, private GEORGE TRULOVE, Company A, First Regiment Kentucky State forces, as follows:

CHARGE I.
Of the Specification 1, "Guilty."
Of the CHARGE 1, "Guilty."
Of the Specification 2, "Guilty."
Of the Specification 3, "Guilty."

SENTENCE.

And the Court does therefore sentence him, private GEORGE TRULOVE, Company A, First Regiment Kentucky State troops, to forfeit one month's pay and allowances, and to be confined at hard labor, with ball and chain, for one month.

Finding and sentence approved and confirmed as to 1st Specification of 1st Charge, and disapproved as to the 2d and 3d Specification, they not applying to the charge. The stoppage of one month's pay will be made against GEORGE TRULOVE by the commanding officer of the company to which he belongs. So much of the sentence as relates to hard labor with ball and chain, is hereby remitted. Private GEORGE TRULOVE will be released from arrest, and returned to his company for duty.

II. Private WILLIAM ALLSBROOK, Company A, First Regiment Kentucky State forces.

CHARGE I.
"Absent without leave."

Specification 1. — In this: that the said WILLIAM ALLSBROOK, a private soldier in Company A, First Regiment Kentucky State troops, did absent himself from his company, stationed at Midway, Ky., and did remain absent until he was arrested by Capt. Charles Juno, in the city of Louisville, Ky., on the fifteenth March, 1865.

Specification 2. — In this: that the said WILLIAM ALLSBROOK, a private soldier in Company A, First Regiment Kentucky State troops, did abandon his arms and ammunition on or about the twenty-third day of February, 1865, at Midway, Ky.

Specification 3. — In this: that the said WILLIAM ALLSBROOK, a private soldier in Company A, First Regiment Kentucky State troops, stationed at Midway, Ky., did throw away his uniform and borrow a citizen's clothes to enable him to escape detection and arrest.

To which charge and specifications the prisoner, private WILLIAM ALLSBROOK, Company A, First Regiment Kentucky State forces, pleaded as follows:

To the CHARGE "Not Guilty."
To the Specification 2, "Not Guilty."
To the Specification 3, "Not Guilty."

FINDING.

The Court having maturely considered the evidence adduced, finds the prisoner, private WILLIAM ALLSBROOK, Company A, First Regiment Kentucky State forces, as follows:

CHARGE I.
Of the Specification 1, "Guilty."
Of the CHARGE, "Guilty."
Of the Specification 2, "Guilty."
Of the Specification 3, "Guilty."

SENTENCE.

The Court does therefore sentence him, private WILLIAM ALLSBROOK, Company A, First Regiment Kentucky State troops, to be confined one month to hard labor, with ball and chain, and to forfeit one month's pay to the State of Kentucky.

Finding and sentence approved and confirmed as to 1st Specification of 1st Charge. Disapproved as to the 2d and 3d Specifications, they not applying to the charge. The stoppage of one month's pay will be made against private WILLIAM ALLSBROOK by the commanding officer of the company to which he belongs. In consideration of his having deserted the service o the State only to join and serve in the United States forces, and of his having been misled by the officer recruiting as to bounty, so much of the sentence as relates to hard labor, with ball and chain, is hereby remitted.

Private WILLIAM ALLSBROOK will be turned over to the Post Commandant at Frankfort, Ky., with request that he forward him immediately to the commanding officer of the 55th Kentucky Infantry Volunteers, at Covington, Ky., to serve out his term of enlistment in said regiment.
