Henderson County, Kentucky, physician. North Carolina native. Son of William Norwood and Robina Hogg Norwood. Married to Mary Lambert Norwood in Henderson, Kentucky, on April 29, 1856. Father of Eliza Norwood and Rebecca Norwood. Attended the University of North Carolina from 1823 to 1826. In partnership with Dr. Robert P. Letcher in Henderson c.1855. Physician in Henderson County in 1860. Owned four enslaved persons in Henderson County in 1860. Allegedly murdered by escaped slave, Jim Brown, on April 1, 1861.
