Served in 25th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as private from January 1, 186 to April 1862. Served in the 17th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as private from April 1862 to April 30, 1864. Reported as deserted from Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee, on April 23, 1862. Returned to duty August 7, 1862. Wounded at Chickamauga on September 19, 1863. Transferred to the Invalid Corps on April 30, 1864.
