Washington County, Indiana, resident and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of David Rasure and Clarinda Tackett Rasure (Julia Dean). Resident of Washington County, Indiana, in 1850. Served in 21st Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment (later 1st Regiment, Indiana Heavy Artillery) (U.S.A.) as a private from July 24, 1861, and October 31, 1864. Committed to the Gratiot Street Prison in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 7, 1865, for counterfeiting.
