Father of Walter Hansbrough, Harriet Hansbrough, Elvissa Hansbrough, Presley F. Hansbrough, Jr., and William Hansbrough. Farmer in Grant County, Kentucky, in 1850. Owned three enslaved persons in Grant County in 1850. Merchant in Grant County in 1860. Served in the 11th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as first lieutenant and captain from September 22, 1862, to May 15, 1865.
