Boyle County, Kentucky, soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Jeremiah T. Boyle and Caroline Boyle. Resident of Boyle County, Kentucky in 1850. Household owned nine enslaved persons in Boyle County in 1850. Attended Centre College in Boyle County in 1860. Household owned thirteen enslaved persons in Boyle County in 1860. Served in the 9th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a first lieutenant from February 2, 1863 to November 2, 1863. Served in the 11th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a major and lieutenant colonel from November 2, 1863 to December 18, 1864. Killed at the Battle of Marion, Smyth County, Virginia on December 18, 1864.
