Father of Anna Lawson, Thomas Lawson, Charles Lawson, Joseph Edward Lawson, Sarah Lawson, Mary Ella Lawson, and Carrie Lawson. Merchant in Covington, Kentucky, in 1860. Employed Caroline Clay as a servant in Kenton County in 1860. Served in the 11th Kentucky Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a second lieutenant and captain from August 18, 1862 to July 17, 1865.
