Organized at Calhoun, McLean County, Kentucky. Mustered into service on March 5, 1862. Consolidated with the 33rd Kentucky Infantry on April 1, 1864. Veteranized in the Department of the Tennessee until December 1864, when it joined the Army of the Potomac. Mustered out of service in North Carolina on July 10, 1865. Commander(s): Colonel Stephen B. Burbridge, Colonel Cicero Maxwell, and Colonel Thomas B. Farleigh.
