Enclosed I hand you copy of a record in a case of the State vs John W. Rutherford who has fled into Crittenden County State of Kentucky, with the request that you grant a requsition upon Governor Bramlette for the rendition of the fugitive to the end that he may be brought into this County for trial
I respectfully recommend R. A. Dowell Esq as a suitable person to act as your Agent to receive the fugitive from the authorities in Kentucky and to bring him into Indiana
You will please have the requsition sent[with] sendt direct
to Gov B. with the request that the warrant for the apprehension of Rutherford may be sent to me at this place and I will see that they are forwarded to the proper officer in Crittenden County
